The artist, was deeply inspired by this young man’s devotion and duty in foregoing an illustrious NFL career, leaving his loving family and friends to protect us by choosing to  serve his country and to which he gave all of us Americans his greatest gift, his life.

 Delgado along with the rest of the nation was sadden and devastated upon hearing on the radio that day he lost his life in Afghanistan.  Like Pat, he is a fellow San Josean who grew in the same community and attended the same school district.

“I imagine that even though he might not have known each other personally I’m sure that we shared similar moments at local places here at home where our family spent happy times together”. I’m fortunate to have work with the greatest athletes in creating tributes to their careers and lives. I’m certain that I would have had the pleasure of working with him in the future in adding him to “Legends.

To honor Pat and his sacrifice I wanted to express myself by creating an original work on his official “40” jersey in proudly display it. I ordered and purchased his jersey from the PAT TILLMAN FOUNDATION. I decided to create the poise we are all familiar with that capture his wonderful enthusiasm and deep dedication he gave to whatever task was on hand.” Delgado

The painting is done in acrylics and is hand painted directly on the jersey. After first carefully preparing the official NFL jersey to obtain paint the hand work is then applied.

A clear professional sealant is then applied to protect the work.

“I originally create this art to encourage intersest in acuiring information and potential sales of  the official jerseys to assist the foundation honoring him.  I deeply encourage all interested persons to go to the foundation site and order your jersey were the proceeds directly benefit the Pat Tillman Foundation.”
